RaRaBoom is bringing the beat-’em-up chaos back to life, and it’s local co-op only.

At PAX East 2025, we got the scoop from Gylee Games on their upcoming RaRaBoom, a four-player couch co-op brawler where you take on industry leaders from outer space. Inspired by classic arcade beat-’em-ups (think Ninja Turtles, X-Men vibes), this game was born from pure love for the genre, and a serious quest to nail that perfect arcade feel.

The devs pushed the bar high, scrapping early art to match the quality of legends like Streets of Rage. They also added a unique lane system so you always know where you stand during the frenetic, fast-paced action. It’s chaos, but with focus, and each character is distinct, with their own special moves and personality.

The story dives deep, too, exploring themes of growth, grief, and self-discovery wrapped in colorful, cutesy, artsy visuals. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, it’s a heartfelt journey through a wild arcade-inspired world.

Look for RaRaBoom to drop this summer on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. We’ll have more coverage coming on Noisy Pixel, so stay tuned.
