Beating All NA N64 Games - Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (27 of 296) [NORMAL]
RANKING: A+
Spaceship shooters aren't one of favorite genres. One of the few games I like in the genre are Galaga, and Silpheed for the Sega CD which was an acquired taste. This one I also like; I like that it's easy, not too long, I like that in a genre I don't particularly like. Though, fans of the genre like there bullet-hells, I do not. They might find this game too easy with it's shield-roll, that deflects everything for a second when you use it, I like it because now you can't get trapped and killed cheaply.
In the year 2098, the Zeograd (a machine alien race) return for a 2nd attack on Earth to wipe out the human race. This is a vertical spaceship shooter, where you gotta get through 7 level (10 if you find the secret levels) and save the Earth for vanishing by the Zeograd. You pick from 3 different ships to do this; with 2 different endings(depending if you can beat the final boss in under 2 minutes or not).
This is a sequel to several games in the series, I have played the NES Star Soldier on the Nintendo Switch Online NES Emulator, I didn't really care for it.
I'd recommend it, it's not too hard, though fans of the genre might not like that. It's also one of the spaceship shooters on the system. there is Star Fox which took the genre to 3D as oppose to being 2D.
