The 2 Castlevania Games - Cartridge Authentication & Manual
CASTLEVANIA
RANKING: A+
This is my favorite game in the series. A 3D gothic-horror setting that you can freely roam around in, count me in. This game isn't well liked, biggest complaint is the camera, people have a hard time figuring it out. here's what they mean "ACTION" mean the camera is locked to your characters back. "NORMAL" it stays looking forward until you make a big turn, then it follows you. "BATTLE" it looks on to the nearest enemy. Also, the level where carrying the nitro where it explodes if you are touched, is another complaint, but it isn't hard if you know what you are doing.
Dracula is back, with people returning to their wicked ways, the seal that keeps Dracula asleep is now weakening. Sensing Dracula's return Reinhardt & Carrie go to kill him (he has a whip, she has magical powers). You make your way to his castle and in it, to find him. There are 11 "levels" in this game: Forest, Wall, Villa, Hedge Maze, [depending on the character you choose, there are certain levels that are different from the 2 characters. One gets a Tunnel, the other gets a Waterway.] Castle Center, Clocktower, etc.
I highly recommend this one, ESPECIALLY WITH A WORKING ANALOG STICK, you need it to make those precision jumps, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

CASTLEVANIA: LEGACY OF DARKNESS
RANKING: A-
This is what the developers wanted to make, that they didn't have time to do with the 1st Castlevania game. Released a little under a year later after the 1st N64 game, which wasn't received well, so this one seems to not have sold well, thus the price is going up on this one.
This has added characters (3 need to be unlocked, and the default charcter I do not like), added and remixed levels, lost the opening violin music, though. Otherwise, this is basically the same game as the 1st, a 3D platformer having to find and kill Dracula.
I'd give this a recommendation, but I recommend the 1st game over this, which is more streamlined, whereas this one has more, more shit, like Cornell, the gay character you are forced to play as before you can unlock the good characters. Also, i feel the camera isn't as good as the 1st game.
