Super Smash Bros Cartridge Authentication & Manual
RANKING: A+
Most will agree this is THE best fighting game on the N64. Though the N64 doesn't have many fighting games, it has one of the best ever made; quality vs quantity.
Beside having the Nintendo characters come together in this game to fight each other, what makes this game stand out is it's not like other fighting games where it's 1-on-1 and you have to drain the enemy's health down to zero. Here the object is you have to throw the foe off the stage; fighting them makes their health meter go up, the more damage, the easier it is to throw the foe off the stage.
The story is vague, but seems it's a kid playing with his Nintendo toys and having them fight. The main game you go through 11 Stages to the final boss: Master Hand. The fights are all the same 1-on-1 matches like in traditional fighter, they vary it up, like: teams; 1 vs a group; 3 vs a giant Donkey Kong; and so on. There are also 3 bonus stages: Break The Target; Touch The Platforms; and Race to The Finish.
Unlike other fighting games, this game can have up to 4 players fight it out in multiplayer mode.
I highly recommend this one; this did one thing I wanted fighting games to do for years, have the special moves be done with a single button (and a direction), making easier to do the special moves, as oppose to doing the button combinations, like every other fighting game.
