Besiege, All Levels, One Machine “Speedrun”*, Full Version!
*Counting “Time Taken” only (for a total score of 7 minutes, 39 seconds), as the game records it, added up for each of the 55 levels, while doing the vanilla ‘All Levels, One Machine’ challenge (see rules). This isn’t a “true” speed run! The large print giveth, the small print taketh away!
The machine I used for this run is available from the Steam workshop for your scrutiny!

Rules I set for myself were:
* Use one machine/save file/block count only. (If it splits into multiple parts, it still counts as being the same block count/save file)
* Machine must be versatile enough to able to beat all 55 levels without being altered, including changing key bindings. If doing a complete playthrough, the same machine that beats “Southern Cottage” must be the exactly the same one that beats “The Last Stand”.
* Basically, if you can do it within the restrictions of the vanilla game (including advanced building), it’s allowed. No block or category limits.
* However, machine must fit in the bounding box, use vanilla blocks only, don’t use mods (this includes block scaling or modifying the game’s files!), don’t use external scripts or macros (the in-game logic blocks are allowed), don’t use cheats/god powers, etc.
* Try to score the fastest “Time Taken” for all 55 levels and add it up for a total score. This doesn’t have to be done all in one go!

The ‘One Machine, All Levels’ challenge is something that I periodically come back to. This time I did it while racking up fast-ish level scores. While my solution isn’t optimal for some levels (Frozen Path, Relict Frost, Ambush), it’s balanced to get a fast-ish overall total “Time Taken” for the whole game. Yep, I’ve overthought it and spent too much time on it. Nope, I don’t care. It gave me something fun to do. :P
This is a niche/obsession thing which I doubt many people will get competitive over, especially as Besiege is an open-ended and flexible sandbox, but my vanilla ‘One Machine’ time could probably be beaten quite easily by anyone who could be bothered to (while following my rule set). I’ve set the bar quite low. Challenge accepted?
IMO, A real speedrun of this game would involve timing oneself building a machine from scratch, modifying/rebuilding it for each level, and doing all 55 levels of the entire game that way - Not just for Ipsilon, which has been done. This video isn’t that! But I enjoyed making it! :)
Not filmed all at once even though I made it look like I did with the magic powers of editing– Too much RNG with the game’s physics.
There’s a glitch where the game sometimes doesn’t record the “Time Taken” properly for some levels. When I sometimes hit space twice, that’s why.

(24 seconds for a “speedrun” is slow! Extra spiral props on the car would’ve made my time 17 seconds, but unbalanced the blimp for other levels where I use the car as a counterweight, which meant a slower total time. If only I could’ve figured out how to launch the starter block with a steam cannon)
