Betafield 4: Tips & Tricks Part 2
12Collective tips:
-When being locked on in and air vehicle, you will see a grey directional icon towards the center of the screen telling you the rough lock on direction.
-Mannequins... they suck.
-Weapons that require you to maintain your lock-on allow you to reacquire the lock if they pop flares, just be patient.
-Bind Pitch-up to a keyboard key so that it will always be maximum amount of pitch to pull up in those hairy situations.
-Releasing the barriers on the bridge when a car is passing over them will deal roughly 10% damage (non-tank/APC).
-Defibrillators must be charged, even just a little, to kill an enemy. The slightest charge will be a fatal attack on the enemy.
-Med packs and ammo packs (as well as boxes) explode when destroyed (2 bullets) but do not cause damage or suppression, however you can still intimidate or scare your opponent by doing this.
-RPGs, when locked on and fired, do not trigger an additional warning tone for the pilots (possibly a bug).
-The gate/grille that can be triggered around the store prevents small arms from shooting threw, but any explosives (including the air-burst even when not in air-burst mode) will destroy the grille.
-High K/Ds will be quite a bit rarer in BF4. Revives occur a whole lot less than they did in BF3. Shorter revive windows coupled with the charge mechanic means a lot less reviving. Plan your gameplay accordingly. Though BF4 will see longer revive windows (https://twitter.com/Demize99/status/387116954215268352).
-As in BF3, you can blow off the doors of jeeps/vehicles. Grenades, air-burst, and noobtube will do this.
-Just because you unlock an attachment, doesn't mean you need to use it. Most common mistake (IMO) is with the Muzzle Break. It reduces recoil but also hurts accuracy. So don't put it on low recoil weapons like the AK-12 or AK-5C (unless you feel like you really need it).
-If you are a recon with a weapon that can use a scope that can be zeroed, then you can use the PLD as a range finder. Just always remember to reset your range on the sniper.
-Ammo/health bags are 'attracted' to players. When looking at them and tossing, it will go very far to get to them. They pick them up (1 time use) and can be slow. For ammo bags, they only resupply primary and secondary weapons. Ammo boxes DO resupply everything like they did in BF3.
