Better Intonation, Better Life | 2. Know Your Basic Units Like Your Intonation Depends on it!
11With this second episode, I explain about your basic units, and an exercise progression that will help you get to know them. You will first immediately see the interval perfect 4th (that is usually so hard to nail) differently and know the exact way to get yourself perfectly there every time. It will also make you realize how essential it is to know them across all fingerboard, as whole step and half step are truly the building block(like lego!) of your left hand technique, so don't overlook anything in this episode!
Better Intonation, Better Life is a video series about an intonation system I have developed to manage intonation. I not only use it in every situation myself, but have passed onto many students who have been mind-blown at how manageable intonation can be and the security they have achieved in their general intonation because of the system.
It will obviously take a few videos to go through the basics and how to develop your "engineering" mind with this system, so bear with me. And besides the basics, there's obviously implementation as well, so you will also see videos in the future of solving real excerpts in music through the system. But once you completely understand the system and know how to see everything through the system, you will be able to see every situation in the left hand as simple as the scale from the 1st episode and this passage in the Tchaikovsky concerto. I guarantee you, you'll see the left hand as something so much simpler than EVER.
