This video is Part 6 of the top 10 tips that I have for new and old Baldur's Gate 3 players. These top 10 tips are based on my own experiences playing the game. Check out my channel (@carbonbasedgamer) for the longer and more comprehensive version of this video.
Top tip 6: Don’t neglect your allies!
Counsellor Florrick, Dame Aylin, Hope, Prince Orpheus and The Emperor can use spell scrolls, drink potions and elixirs, and consume Noblestalk. Keep an eye on their health and use their bonus actions to drink a health potion, or just throw one at them. These allies are crucial to the game’s storylines and can turn the tide in a fight. You cannot transfer any items to their inventories directly like you can with your party members, but you are able to let them access items directly from one of your party member’s inventories. You could try to pickpocket them and add items to their inventory, but it is not always possible during combat. You will have to drop a throwable item such as a grenade or spear on the ground if you want the ally to throw it. Temporary allies like Sovereign Glut cannot cast spells or equip weapons.
