Top tip 1: You need a balanced party
-Healer
-Mage
-Frontline melee attacker
-Ranged weapon attacker

Top tip 2: Protect each other
-Mage can cast spell to damage the enemy or to immobilize them
-Ranged attacker attacks safely from a distance
-Healer heals downed or injured party members within range
-End round only when in melee mode
-Stand next to a ranged attacker to make an opportunity attack
-Surround enemies in confined spaces - useful for reactions and opportunity attacks

Top tip 3: Remember your alchemy
-Remember that the game has a crafting mechanic
-Don't forget to collect ingredients for alchemical purposes.
-Ingredients can be found all over the game
-Crafting items will spare you a lot of gold

Top tip 4: Don't lose the noblestalk
-Noblestalk is an important quest item for two of your origin characters
-Noblestalk is rare and can easily be missed in Act 1
-Noblestalk can be consumed to heal and remove negative effects
-Giving the noblestalk to Derryth will unlock the option to buy noblestalk in Act 3

Top tip 5: Don't neglect your summons
-Some summons can drink potions and elixirs
-Undead summons cannot drink health potions
-The intellect devourer, "Us", cannot drink potions or elixirs

Top tip 6: Don't neglect your allies
-Some allies can access items directly from your inventory
-Some allies can use scrolls to cast spells and can also use consumables
-It is not possible to transfer items directly to their inventories because it is locked; however, pickpocketing is possible
-Place throwables on the ground in order for your allies to throw them

Top tip 7: Go berry picking
-Raspberry bushes can be found in the game in various areas
-Raspberries can be consumed to recover hit points
-Raspberries can be consumed without using an action or bonus action
-The same goes for other unique consumables such as the suspicious meat in Act 1

Top tip 8: Performance is key
-Learn how to play a musical instrument from Alfira in Act 1 or by choosing the performer feat
-Play music to attract crowds and distract NPCs
-Playing music can be used if you do not have the minor illusion cantrip

Top tip 9: Always have an escape plan
-Strategize. Plan ahead, especially if you are playing on honour mode
-Create difficult terrain to slow down enemies when you escape
-Use the "flee combat" option to return to camp when you are far enough from enemies
-Use disengage, dash, longstrider, misty step, dimension door or fly in order to escape

Top tip 10: Gather as many allies as you can
-You will need allies to aid you in the Upper City of Baldur's Gate and for the final fight against the Netherbrain, especially on honour mode
-You can gather allies throughout the game by completing main and side quests
-It is not possible to gather all allies in a single playthrough
