The version you are seeing in this video is a digital copy of the 1976 theatrical version of Star Wars. You're still able to purchase a 1983 Laserdisc of the movie somewhere on the internet along with a expensive Laserdisc as well. If you have the money you can most likely find it.
I was a teenager back in 1976, and my brother, and me strolled down from our apartment in Cowie Hill in Halifax to the theatre located beside the Armdale Rotary. Once I saw it I was like everyone else. The world seemed to change, and I was looking for anything, and everything having to do with Star Wars. I have seen the movie as many times as most others out there, and couldn't get enough of it. The world seemed to have gone Star Wars crazy, and I was among them. I remember sitting beside my bed hoping to record on my old tape recorder the 1977 Meco Star Wars Cantina song on the radio.
I had so many great memories from back then, and unfortunately the older I got I saw how George Lucas destroyed the movie I enjoyed by releasing one edition after the other with computer animation which of course was not part of the original. In my eyes you can never beat the original, and to me he destroyed what made the original so great.
Oh well, at least I have a digital copy I can watch if I ever wish to get that same feeling I had back in 1976 when I saw it with my brother in the theatre so long ago.
