Boy wonder they called him. Owen announced himself on a global stage with a sublime goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup. This was sandwiched in between two Premier League golden boots and from there on, Owen was destined for great things. He peaked in 2001 where he won a Ballon d’Or and three trophies with Liverpool and went onto complete an injury-hampered career with Real Madrid, Newcastle, Manchester United and Stoke City.
