Even before Southampton got promoted back to the Premier League in 2012, they had got rid of the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott. But once back and upsetting the applecart, Liverpool and Manchester United used Southampton as a feeder club, with Luke Shaw, Victor Wanyama, Morgan Schneiderlin, Toby Alderweireld, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane all leaving the South Coast.
