Bit.Trip Complete (Wii)
Loading times were removed for your consideration and enjoyment. In this capture I show the first five minutes of each game. I did not want to show off other levels as it can be quite discouraging to see how tough the game gets.
What you are looking at is the very definition of an instant classic. Bit.Trip Complete is a compilation of 6 absolutely amazing rhythm based Wii Ware games that have totally redefined the genre. In a world where rhythm games are now graded by how many instrument shaped controllers it has and how many licensed songs are on the list, the Bit.Trip series came along and smacked Guitar Hero, Rockband, and DJ Hero right in the face using nothing but a Wii controller and absolutely no licensed music. The controls are simple, and the music is out of this world. IMHO This is the greatest music\rhythm title ever made. It is in my top five favorite games of all time.
I first discovered the Bit.Trip series by downloading the only Bit.Trip demo available at the time on the Wii shop channel which was Fate. I thought it was cool how it was a shooter that was literally on a rail. What I found even cooler was it's music and how it took the place of sound effects much like Rez. I liked it so much I played the demo over and over. Not long after a Runner demo was put up. I downloaded it and I was absolutely in love. I couldn't take it anymore and downloaded the full version of Runner. When I heard that Gaijin Games was making a retail release, I eagerly waited to buy it on day one. This is the first game in a very long time that I have ever bought a game at launch at full price. I am not the least bit sorry that I did. The retail release comes with an 18 track music CD of the official soundtrack, and each game has 20 extra challenges for people who already own some or all of these games. In addition there is an easy, normal, and hard setting for all games. This is great because these games are extremely difficult to master. Also there are extra unlockables that you can open when you complete these games and when you perfect them.
I could go on forever about these games but I don't have the space and you don't have the patience. This is an absolutely stellar title that makes the Wii really worth owning. The graphic style and music just draws me in so close that the sometimes cruel difficulty never keeps me away from trying over and over again. If you are a fan of Parappa the Rapper, Um Jammer Lammy, Bust a Groove, Frequency, Amplitude, Rez, Samba de Amigo, or Space Channel 5, you need to try these games. Now is a good time because every single demo has just been put back up on the Wii shopping channel for download. Download these games if you haven't tried them and experience the greatness of Bit.Trip.
