Welcome to the first part of BIT.TRIP VOID! Today, we go through Id. The stage itself is fairly easy and does its job well to get you accustomed to the game's mechanics (though it may take a few attempts to get everything down pact). All I can say is be aware of your surroundings, don't get too greedy for points when white pixels start closing in, and maaaaaaaaaybe skip that last "power-up" so you won't be screwed right at the start of the boss. Speaking of the boss (which seems to be a reference to the old Spy Hunter arcade game), there's no real trick to beating it. Just make sure your reflexes are halfway decent, and you'll be fine!

BIT.TRIP VOID is an interesting take on bullet hell games where your goal is to grab as many black pixels as possible while avoiding white pixels. The more black ones you collect, the higher your score multiplier goes, and the bigger you get (however, this also means you move slower). If you get hit by a white pixel, both your multiplier and size reset. You can avoid this by releasing pixels with the tap of a button; this also resets your multiplier and size, but you retain points and don't get a negative penalty. The more black pixels you hit, the higher your power level goes (with Hyper being the standard, followed by Mega, Super, and then Ultra; with Mega and beyond, your score continues to increase just for being in this level whether or not you hit any pixels, though your score increases at a much higher rate in Super and Ultra). Collecting too many white pixels or missing too many black pixels lowers your level, and if you miss enough, you enter the Nether level (and messing up here means game over). You control Commander Video by moving with the directional buttons and tapping a button (A in the Wii version) to release pixels.

I do Let's Plays of my favorite games as well as games I feel get a bad rap or deserve more noteriety (with the occasional blind LP). No genre is off limits! You'll also find reviews, walkthroughs, quick looks at Indie games, Legend of Zelda lore, and random cool clips of whatever I might be playing at the moment. Sound good? Then stick around; you might see something you like!
