This is quite possibly the best £15 I've ever spent. You could easily put the Valve logo on this and believe it was made by them, the quality is that good!!

You can tell that the guys at Crowbar Collective are genuinely passionate about this universe, they did not want to release a half baked game that did a disservice to the franhcise and the universe.

It has been a long time since a game has made me this happy to play. I remember exploring Black Mesa and imagining working in a place like that one day and wondering who worked in all of the little nooks and crannies that you came across. I am getting those exact same feelings all over again 22 years later.

I loved Half Life back in the day and I was unfortunately a little disappointed with HL:Source as even though it looked slightly better it still played like the 98 version, that was good back in 98 but the gameplay does not hold up particularly well in today' market.

This however is all set to change, Black Mesa is the definitive re-imagining of Half Life, this is not just a simple remaster this is a complete remake, gunplay feels heavy and meaty, graphics are great, sounds are true to the original but much improved, the feeling i got walking around the Black Mesa facility is still there.

I love that they kept some of the original touches like the headcrab death sound.

I am very much looking forward to exploring the Black Mesa facility once more.

God bless Crowbar Collective, you have done Valve and yourselves extremely proud.
