Black Myth: Wukong: How to Beat Lingxuzi: Tips and Strategies for the Yaoguai King Boss Fight
Lingxuzi may appear intimidating at first glance, but he’s actually one of the more manageable bosses in Black Myth: Wukong. Once a celestial being, Lingxuzi has fallen from grace, now serving as a powerful Yaoguai King after centuries of spiritual cultivation. In Chinese mythology, Yaoguai are supernatural beings or demons, often the spirits of animals, plants, or objects that have gained sentience and power through long years of cultivation. Lingxuzi, now corrupted and driven by malevolent forces, exemplifies a Yaoguai who has turned to darkness.
Despite his formidable presence, Lingxuzi’s battle mechanics are fairly straightforward, making him a suitable introduction to the game’s boss fights. His moveset consists of just six attack combinations, each of which is predictable once you recognize his patterns. Typically, he’ll start the fight with a lunge swipe combo. This sequence can deal significant damage if it connects, so be prepared to dodge as soon as the fight begins.
One of Lingxuzi’s trickiest moves is his grab attack, which leaves you with only a brief window—about 30 frames—to react. If you do get caught, the damage isn’t devastating, but it’s still best to avoid it. Pay close attention to his movements, as he often telegraphs his intentions. For example, when you see Lingxuzi lick his paw, it’s a clear sign that he’s leaving himself open, giving you a perfect opportunity to unleash a flurry of attacks.
Another critical moment to capitalize on is when Lingxuzi leaps onto the rooftop. This move can be intimidating, but with the right timing, you can easily dodge his lunge as he comes back down, opening him up to further attacks.
This battle is designed to teach you the importance of patience and precision. Rushing in with relentless aggression might work here, but future bosses won’t be as forgiving. If you’re finding the fight challenging, consider using your fire-based transformation to stack burn damage over time. Additionally, the Immobilize ability can be incredibly useful to interrupt his attack chains, giving you a much-needed breather.
Once you’ve learned to read his patterns and respond accordingly, Lingxuzi will fall, rewarding your efforts with some valuable loot. Upon defeating him, you’ll receive 693 Will, 3 Yarn, the Grey Wolf Mask, and a Celestial Jade Lotus Pill, which will permanently increase your maximum health.
This battle may seem daunting at first, but with the right strategy, you’ll overcome Lingxuzi and be better prepared for the tougher challenges ahead. Be sure to like and subscribe for more in-depth Black Myth: Wukong tips and strategies!
