READ! VERY IMPORTANT! Do not try to play the game without the patch to uncensor it, you will not be able to finish it. No MangoHud because it became invisible when fullscreening the game.

If you want to play in windowed mode, but scale the window you can do so using gamescope. Here's an example of that to put in Steam Launch Options to scale up by 2x with no filter: LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -w 640 -h 480 -W 1280 -H 960 -F pixel -r 60 -- %command%

How to install uncensor patch using protontricks:
Install the game, run it once, then quit
Download the patch from the Otaku Plan website
Open a terminal and cd to the folder where the patch .exe is saved
(- If you're using Flatpak Protontricks, use Flatseal to give it permission to read from where the patch installer is saved)
Run: protontricks-launch --no-bwrap --appid 3755860 BLACK\ SOULS\ ENG\ patch.exe
Click "Apply patch" in the window that opens, then "Exit" after patching is done

Alternative method:
The patch installer is just a zip extractor, you can just use an archive utility (like Ark) to extract it
Copy the extracted files into the game folder

You can tell that the patch applied successfully if the first NPC (Alice) has a portrait at all. It also installs an ugly Comic Sans-esque font, you can get rid of that by deleting Fonts/lolita.ttf from the game files. Pro tip: there is also a map in the game files, just open Map.png.
