The Image: The crazed blimp that threatens that most sacred of American institutions - Super Bowl Sunday!
I have only really watched the last 30 minutes or so of this film - and that was years ago when I tried to watch everything by the great director, John Frankenheimer. I certainly never forgot the fleeing middle-American crowd in their cheerful, bright attires as the blimp nudges closer and closer into the sacred space of the Super Bowl arena. What a hoot!
The movie is basically American xenophobic nonsense (Muslims are bad...) - but the final 15 minutes are so deranged I just had to post - and today is Super Bowl (58) Sunday after all, so an apposite day to share this blimp-infested madness with my little band of subscribers - if they don't already know it!
