Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold E4M0, Veteran Agent, (first secret level) First Playthrough
0There are 78 levels of Blake Stone I don't know. This series will be my first experience at them! All the shocks, the lucky accidents, accidental informant kills and managing to find the odd secret. There will be deaths, theirs and mine.
After each episode I'll learn the levels and continue my Veteran 100% series.
0:00 - Introduction
0:20 - Drink water, then gameplay begins
0:30 - Murder sector patrol in the back and the level is finished
0:58 - Secret found on the final tile
1:08 - New area with plasma spheres.
2:08 - Struggling a bit with the auto opening doors
3:01 - Quarter of monsters already dead, time to explore
3:21 - Best to be cautious
4:08 - Checking for secrets, but missed a bit ..
4:40 - Paydirt! Secret found
4:58 - Back to secret hunting
5:18 - Fount the start of the breadcrumbs and loot
5:58 - Enemies almost got me off guard
6:29 - Back to finding more secrets
8:15 - Found more secrets
8:40 - End of that path, wondering where the rest is.
9:32 - Last part of chain, then back to hunting again
9:56 - Large internal secret found, then back to hunting
10:43 - Pondering ideas to myself
12:00 - Finally found the bit I missed earlier
12:56 - Lower health, one side cleared. Dot seen on map ..
13:22 - Next secret found.
13:32 - Another secret found
13:42 - Into the "room section"
14:50 - Seem to have drained their immediate numbers
15:29 - Double kill!
15:49 - Random post to deactivate
16:14 - Switch turned off, time for gold
17:23 - Rooms section done, back to hutning
17:36 - Found another secret
17:52 - Can run into that, I chose to shoot them down.
19:24 - Out of ammo, going looking for supplies
20:02 - Time to head back.
20:25 - Unexpected 100%!!
20:40 - Found secret with supplies
21:37 - Back in E4M4 heading to use red key
Well this level was something different! Mandatory secrets if you want more than just the one kill and gold pile. The fact that you see those breadcrumbs of secrets is a new one for me.
And then it comes down to "when is it down?" Is it when the first normal rooms are done? When I find a secret and open up a few rooms? When I find a chain and then it gets hard to find more?
The doors that open well before you get to them are different. Its one thing to pick off the plasma spheres, but the Star Troopers and Sentinels taking long distance pot shots where I can't get a plasma shot to them is a bit annoying.
While I don't check every single wall panel, there are a few times the choice of tile I start/stop, or where I don't look is sometimes where the secret is. Keep that in mind if you are looking for secrets.
Also no High Energy Plasma Alien Spawners!
Finally it should be noted that while I got 100%, I did not find all the secrets, there is at least one more with health and ammo supplies which I'll cover in my proper 100% series. That will also be more efficient
