29No commentary playthrough of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold. Played on maximum difficulty, getting all kills and secrets, and keeping all informants alive where possible. Using Bibendovsy's "BStone" source port.
This is an update/improvement over my previous playthrough, featuring:
- Widescreen instead of 4:3
- OpenGL rendering instead of software. If you don't like hardware rendering, please resort to my previous playthrough
- All kills, secrets, treasure in every floor
- All informants alive, where possible. This part was pain in some floors.
This game was delevoped by Jam Productions and published by Apogee in 1993. You are secret agent Blake Stone, set on a mission to stop the evil Dr. Goldfinger, who has plans to create an army of mutants and cyborgs. This effort uses Wolfenstein 3D's engine and adds every single feature they could afford given the computers of the day, such as: Switches activating door and barriers (even between different levels), friendly characters, floor & ceiling texures, depth cueing, automap, dozens of enemies, and traversing to previous floors. Sad part is that this game came out one week before Doom, so it was certainly "Doomed" to oblivion... Otherwise it would have been a true classic.
Blake Stone is a pleasant trip, with colorful and varied enemies... and a tough as nails. You collect keycard and push switches until you get a red keycard which allows you to unlock the next floor. Until you reach floor 9 of each episode and fight one of Goldfinger's abominations. As well as with Wolfenstein 3D, this game has a TON of levels, so take your time, it can get tiring.

Esto es una mejora sobre my playthrough anterior, características:
- Formato panorámico en vez de 4:3
- Renderizado por OpenGL en lugar de Software. Si no te gusta el renderizado por hardware, siempre tienes el playthrough anterior
- Todas las bajas, secretos, y tesoro
- Todos los informantes vivos, cuando fuera posible. Esto fue doloroso en algunos pisos.
Este juego fue desarrollado por Jam Productions y publicado por Apogee en 1993. Eres Blake Stone, agente secreto destinado a detener al malvado Dr. Goldfinger, que tiene planes para crear un ejército de mutantes y cyborgs. Esta obra usa el motor de Wolfenstein 3D y añade todas las caracterís que los PCs de la época podían soportar, tales como: Interruptores para activar puertas y barreras (incluso en otros niveles), personajes amistosos, texturas de suelo y techo, profundidad, mapa, docenas de enemigos, y posibilidad de volver a pisos anteriores. La parte triste es que este juego fue lanzado una semana antes que Doom, con lo que quedó condenado al olvido... Sino seguramente sería un clásico hoy día.
Blake Stone es un viaje agradable, con enemigos variados y coloristas... y es bastante jodido. Obtienes llaves y accionas interruptores para conseguir la llave roja que permita acceder al siguiente nivel, hasta que llegas al 9º piso te enfrentas a una de las abominaciones del Dr. Goldfiger. Al igual que Wolf3D, este juego tiene UN MONTON de niveles, así que lo mejor es ir a los pocos para evitar cansarse.
