0When I was playing through Wolfenstein 3D, I noticed that episode four was a marked increase in difficulty from the previous three. Somehow that trend seems to have translated into the development of Blake Stone. We've got a red-suited guard in the first hallway, Goldfire teleporting into the mess hall, and enough respawning electro-mutants to make even the most evil of bio-techs think about updating their resume. And that's just on the first floor..

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a first person shooter game developed by JAM Productions and published by Apogee Software in 1993 for DOS PCs, and would easily be considered one of the better "clones" of the original Wolfenstein 3D.
In the distant future, the evil Dr. Pyrus Goldfire has been twisting the STAR Institute, and the brilliant scientific minds it employs, toward the creation of genetically engineered mutants. With an army of monsters, Goldfire plans to take over the Earth.. unless Blake Stone, a British secret agent, can stop him!
