「静寂の悲劇」と呼ばれる邪悪な呪いが降り注いだ世界「Cvstodia」。
プレイヤーはその生き残りである「悔い改める者」となり，この世界を恐ろしい運命から救い，苦悩の根源を突き止めるために，たった一人で戦うことになる。

　自らの罪から誕生したとされる剣「Mea Culpa」を手にした主人公は，その剣を使った攻撃と，ダッシュ（ドッジ）による緊急回避，タイミングよくボタンを押すことで敵の攻撃をはじくパリィ，そして剣を突き刺して壁に張りつくこともできるジャンプを駆使して，悪夢のような世界を探索していく。
