I've filed a bug report in Blender issue tracker:

Rendering of this video took 13 minutes with 10 instances through Pulverize.php, because there's only one 1920x1080 source in 30 FPS, and no cropping, overlays or fancy effects. Pulverize said I saved 1h46m of rendering time. For a dead simple 21 minute video. Lots of cuts, some text, two crossfades, nothing more.
