I've loved Blink since I was maybe 11 or twelve, got into them just as Take Off Your Pants and Jacket came out, and I was totally on for the ride. It was my own discovery, not my parents classic rock, or what others were into in school, often times I was ridiculed by friends for being into them cause they're not Led Zeppelin, which I also got into at the time but I wasn't judgemental. I knew it wasn't the punk rock of the Ramones, or The Clash, but I'm sure Mark, Tom and Travis were influenced by all of those punk rock kings, but they made Blink-182 their own, they were fun, and cool outsiders and sang about teenage problems I could relate to, make fun of shit that didn't matter but still stand up for their beliefs of rock and roll. They were punk rock in their own way because music was an outlet to say fuck you to the world! I'm making sounds I love with my friends. Music is about loving the music you make with those you love, and the fact that these three have been through so much and have come together again to make some dick jokes and songs about roller coasters, first dates, break ups, fuck ups, your parents' divorce, loneliness, aggression, violence, love, longing, all these universal themes that make us human, and fuck yeah if they're emo, but it makes you feel.
