Last night, a small protest took place right outside my window, which was on 9th Ave SW, just outside of the Crowfoot Cafe, near the Fire Department next to White Center, so i figured i'd join in. Glad i went because i now understand how moving a BLM protest can actually be. Peaceful for the most part, just some unhappy drivers and neighbors that were a bit frustrated, but other than that, it went very well. Turns out Seattle Council member, Lisa Herbold, lives right next door to me, and the objective of this protest was to visit each council members' houses to protest to defund the SPD (Seattle Police Department). Herbold was extremely friendly and very responsive, making the main goal of the protest successful. The main road next to me WAS a very bland, typical, grey concrete road, and now is a representation of the 1st amendment (with a bit of vandalism), leaving the lane left with a mix of "BLM" "DEFUND THE POLICE" & "ACAB" graffiti plastered all over the boulevard.
