There's an interesting thing to consider when playing a board game: should anything else be going on? Distracted gamers are one thing, but what about a means to enhance the gaming experience by helping you get immersed in the world? Music is good for that, but not everyone likes it...

Game nights should be focused on the game itself. That's pretty cut and dried, in my opinion. That said, I fully believe that there are a LOT of other aspects to gaming that can enhance the experience at the table. Things like having good food and friends work wonders, but today I wanted to talk about playing music during game sessions. I sometimes find that music (the right music) can really enhance the fun and immersion of gameplay. In the right situation.

What about you all? I'm particularly curious for this topic, as I've noticed that it's a bit of a divisive issue amongst my local friends. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments!
