Bob Plays "No Man's Sky" #1
0No Man's Sky is a mix of wonderful and awful things. The PC release was very buggy (though patches have helped since then) and the menus and other issues tend to reflect a title that was not quite ready to be released yet. You can tell it was a console port and doesn't take advantage of many of the things PC's can do better like freelook with the mouse. If like me you want to upgrade your ship, be prepared to grind like there's no tomorrow.
And yet... there is something very appealing about this game too. If you are willing to do without a lot of material possessions and make your living as a naturalist or just explore, you don't absolutely have to grind much at all. The planets are genuinely very varied and strange, though many things start to look a little samey after awhile. The visual style is very appealing, like 70's album covers or old-school sci-fi art.
If you buy it, buy it for what it one day can be... it's present condition is a little rough around the edges.
