What happened to Patrol 2 you might ask? Nothing, nothing happened. Nothing at all. A complete waste of diesel fuel. The seas were rough, the skies were stormy, the hunting was bad. I just deleted all the recorded video from Patrol 2 since literally nothing worthwhile happened.

In the finale of Patrol 3, we admire the slow sinkage of a cargo ship and help another to do the same, then wrap up the patrol and head for home.

This is retro month! Why is it retro month? Because my computer is busted and I have to use a computer that is only good for old games, is why!

I have finally gotten my new broken computer off to the Acer depot and we will see if I get a working computer back. Because if I don't, I am getting the gloves and the lube and going looking for an Acer executive. ;)

If all goes well, I should get the computer back in perhaps 10 days.

We are playing Silent Hunter III, a submarine warfare sim from 2005, and we are playing on Career Mode in which we are the captain of a WWII German sub over several patrols starting in 1941.

The year 1941 was the midst of the "Happy Times," a time during which the German submarine forces were winning the battle to starve Britain of much-needed supplies, and U-boat aces were sinking a staggering number of tons of Allied shipping. After about 1942, the Allies started to win based partly on the sheer quantity of shipping that the Americans could manufacture, and also based on much improved anti-submarine techniques and technological innovations like radar.
