Bob's Guide to Fighting Games (Part 2) - Learning a New Character
Help the channel evolve! http://tinyurl.com/mbq447w
So now that all the pieces are on the table (pokes, punishers, combos, groundgame, and so on), it's time to help start bringing it all together. In this video, I'm gonna teach you what to keep an eye out for when learning a fighting game character. What I go over covers every game across the board with little deviation, so this is a strong starting-off point for any fighter you're getting into.
Think of this more like a set of blueprints when learning one. Any advanced tactics can come later once you have your fundamentals down (because you're not gonna pick up Ryu to only use fireballs, are you?).
This video goes through a 3-part breakdown: what to do before picking a character, learning the character, and how to match your opponent. Specific opponent matchups will be discussed later. I'm not including links to parts of the video this time because all topics are very broad and everything has been discussed before; I'm just running down the list from last time.
