Bolt-On Neck Alignment Fix | Ibanez RG5440C Prestige | Guitar Repair | String Falling Off Edge
Ibanez RG5440C Prestige fix. The neck was misaligned on my guitar. One simple suggestion fixed this. While it isn’t ideal to have to fix an expensive instrument myself, I’m glad I now have a playable guitar.

The neck on my Ibanez RG5440C Prestige was misaligned. While this is disappointing, the fix ended up being very simple. A youtube comment recommended I loosen the neck bolts, move the neck, and then tighten the bolts. It took a few tries, but I was able to get the neck into a position where the high e string would no longer be falling off the neck. This isn’t ideal given it’s an expensive instrument, but I’m glad it’s fixed. At this price point, silly issues like this shouldn’t be happening. At best it’s a factory worker making a mistake. At worst, it’s the neck pocket being carved out incorrectly (unacceptable!).
If you run into this problem on any Ibanez or bolt-on guitar, hopefully this will help you fix it.
