I was looking to replace my Ibanez RGD as the neck profile on Ibanez 7 strings don’t feel right to my hands. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my Solar T1.7AC although its fret access and weight were prohibitive for a full time, mobile 7. Enter the A1.7. It’s lighter, has incredible fret access, and yet is close enough to or better than the Ibanez in all specs save for top-shelf materials. Additionally it has the evertune, which I’m personally a fan of.
In this video I outline some initial impressions and thoughts, as well as some discussion after using it to record a song. This song is then showcased at the end of the video to give a demonstration of what this guitar can do. I’m planning on doing a more in-depth review as well as a comparison against the RGD it’s replacing in the immediate future.
