Princess Millian of the Primus Star has been captured and her planet has been conquered by the Garaden Empire. She has entrusted her faithful droid, Pibot, with a secret data disk containing Garaden's evil plans. They need a hero. A Bomberman Hero.

Here we have Bomberman's 2nd outing on the N64. Since it started life originally as a Bonk game, Ultra Genjin, Bomberman Hero is a very different experience than most Bomberman. For starters, Bomberman's got a jump button that he uses to platform around small little 3D obstacle courses, blowing up all the baddies and grabbing all the crystals. Bomberman also has a health bar this time which makes it much more forgiving regarding self immolation this time out. Don't worry though, you'll still blow your self up.

So far I'm enjoying it though I do kinda miss the kludgy nature of Bomberman 64. Bomberman's jump is neat but he's also a floating slidey boy and the focus on score means quite a runs of bosses though honestly not sure if its worst than the cards from 64. Very cute game with cute enemies, neat vehicle segments, and just small but interesting levels. Let us see how it goes.
