Book Discussion 11: Dude, Where's My Country? by Michael Moore
I don't suppose there's much point in sugar-coating my feelings toward this book. At best it would only preach to the choir, but the sermon is so lackluster I think the choir would get tired of this drivel. It lacks charm, poignancy, and sans a few exceptions, I couldn't find much to agree with the author about. Those sections were such basic common ground though that you'd have to be acting contrary to put yourself as the opposition on those matters. As it's an older book on politics it already has the potential to be outdated and irrelevant by its nature, but the author was only thinking about short-term gains in his day. At this point, it's wholly worthless, assuming it had any worth to begin with.
