Despite the overlapping name with the video game series, there's no relationship between this compilation of short stories and the shooter. This is the fifth compilation of horror and supernatural stories under this name. I didn't find this to be a great compilation, as only a handful of the few dozen stories seemed either very good or unique. This is in spite of the introduction to the compilation indicating the editors were seeking out distinct horror stories instead of the typical slashers or ghost stories. I suppose that explains the mediocre Amazon reviews.
