Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Part 1: The New Gang
So, after beating Crash Bandicoot, I was going to start up the next Kingdom Hearts game but I was having some trouble getting the PS3 to work with OBS so I will postpone that for a little while. Instead, I thought it might be nice to get back into the world of Borderlands with the Pre-Sequel. I have yet to play this game (with the exception of testing to see how the game records and this recording session) so I’m both excited and worried to play this game. From what I’ve heard about this game is that it feels like a bigger expansion for Borderlands 2 than what they sold. It does seem that the game uses a lot from Borderlands 2 gameplay-wise (the same menuing, similar guns, the badass tokens etc.), I mean it also starts off in a very similar way (the group we are playing as enter a vehicle that gets ambushed by someone and then we crash land somewhere), but, what kind of interested me the most is that all the characters are 1) are bad guys in Borderlands 2 and 2) aren’t carbon copies of the last two casts. If you look at the playable characters for both Borderlands 1 and 2, they are structured very similarly; there is a class that goes berserker, a class with a turret, an assassin class and a female siren. This game, however, has some variety to it; We still have a turret/Mech class with Wilhelm but Athena uses a shield, Nisha has a focus fire ability (it allows her to lock on any target while increasing fire-rate, damage, reload speed etc.) and then there is Claptrap who, from what I understand, has an RNG factor to him as to what he can bring to the table (It sounds like he can either help his team in a big way or hinder his team completely which is why I don’t go with him because I know my luck with the RNG Gods is not good). After meeting the team, all that is left is to explore the Moon of Pandora to see if this game can hold its own.
