In this episode (Ep 22), we take on a new boss: King Calamari!

SUNKEN SHIP
The password, if you haven't figured it out already, is PEARLS, so make sure each letter is selected from the proper block. When you're ready, talk into the tube next to the door and say the password. The door will open and a giant tentacle will signal you to come in. Before you enter, I would suggest switching Mallow with Geno (so you have Mario, Geno, and Toadstool). Then, enter the room and you will face King Calamari/Tentacles in battle.
BOSS: King Calamari/Tentacles
In this fight, you'll have to fight 2 sets of 3 tentacles, then Calamari and 2 tentacles. Have Mario cast Super Flame, have Geno cast Geno Boost on the party, and the Princess attack or heal. The tentacles will pull someone out of your group, then cause them to be scared, lowering your stats. The Princess's Group Hug or Therapy could fix that so you shouldn't worry at all about their attacks. When you reach King Calamari, Have Mario cast Super Flame on him and Geno either cast Geno Boost on Mario or attack. Since you've cast Geno Boost on Mario enough times, it'll make his Super Flame A LOT stronger, weakening and eventually defeating Calamari much quicker!
After the battle, you will land in a room with a trampoline below, so simply continue into the next room. Here, jump onto the blocks to reach the upper ledge, and go through the door there. In here, make your way past all of the cannons safely, but be careful since if a bullet hits you, you will fall to the room below and have to start again. The easiest way would be to watch the pattern, then run past in between shots. In the following room, go down the stairs past the Alley Rats and into the room ahead. In there, head to the northwest corner and jump from the stack of barrels onto the high ledge where you can hit two chests for a whopping 200 Coins!
Now, go through the door to the north. In that room, you will find a clone of Mario that mimics your movements. In the middle of the room, stand just on the southeast edge of the middle circle of light, and jump to reveal a hidden block and Hidden Treasure #23 above. Jump on the clone's head to reach the chest, which contains a KerokeroCola.
After that, exit the room via the south doorway, and continue into the room after it. You will find a few Dry Bones in this next room. Defeat the one next to the north wall, then walk behind it to reach a hidden room with a chest holding a Frog Coin inside. Next, continue downstairs to reach the Save Block. First hit the chest nearby to get the Recovery Mushroom, then save. Get Mallow back into your party, then jump over the blocks and hit the other chest in the room to face Hidon. Use Mario's Super Jump (or Ultra Jump if you have it) to cause the most damage, while Mallow uses Thunderbolt to clear the Goombettes that Hidon summons. When you win, you will receive the Safety Badge accessory which renders its wearer immune to adverse status effects and increases their defensive stats! I suggest equipping this on either Toadstool or Mario.
