Boycotts and the Stupid Wizard Game
2Uh oh, I made my channel political. Whoopsie, guess I cared about the state of the world a little too much. I promise to make this mistake again.
Got that Umineko Golden Fantasia footage in the background. I don't wanna promote the stupid wizard game, so instead I'll promote a better magic-related game. Read Umineko. It's much more pro-social than...whatever Mrs. British Author's franchise is supposed to promote.
I've wanted to get more into making explicitly political videos, but I didn't expect this script to go as off-the-rails as it did. It might be a bit rambly, a bit doomery, a bit dramatic, but hey, that's how I roll.
I'm explicitly avoiding putting the name of the game or the author in question here because I like being vague and I don't want weirdos flooding my comments who won't even watch the damn video. But if that happens anyway, I'll respond to good faith arguments, and block you from the channel if you come in being reactionary. That is, assuming it's a small enough number to get everyone, which it probably would.
I planned on making this video more...well-edited than it ended up, but I also wanted to get this video out before the release date. Which I *did*...except for the fact that I kinda diiiidn't.... Off topic but I hope this whole "spend more money to get a game a little bit earlier" thing doesn't become a trend.
I was also going to add an addendum about the trans character in the game, which to my knowledge was revealed after I had already recorded the script. Her name aside, my general take on this is that having a trans character in the game doesn't make Mrs British Author any less transphobic and it doesn't make buying the game any less bad. Again, you're not gonna destroy the world by buying a game, but you might destroy your friendships or other interpersonal relationships.
Thank you for watching, and reading if you actually read descriptions. Hahaha. Definitely gonna do more videos like this in the future, just don't know what it'll be next. Guess we'll see.
One last thing though! In this video I mentioned or...I guess shouted-out (for what that's worth) two other political channels that you should give a watch to if you're interested!
