♫Brahms - Intermezzo in B Minor Op.119 No.1♫
I've just taken a look at my ABRSM grade 8 results slip; I remember playing this Brahms Intermezzo for the exam, and was wondering what the examiner had written for my performance of this piece. The handwriting is extremely hard to read, but it looks like the main issue was that I had blurry pedalling. Haha, no surprise there at all. 18-year-old me didn't appreciate the beauty of clean pedalling, and I wouldn't be surprised if I had changed the pedal just once per bar in passages such as from 0:08 to 0:23 for example. In this video however, I've chosen to change the pedal every quaver beat (3 times per bar) for that same section. In fact, I even changed the pedal 4 times in the last bar of that phrase at around 0:22.
So anyways. I actually still scored a decent 24/30 for this piece back then. I wonder how much I would score for this video? Haha. Perhaps you could be the examiner and tell me! ;)
