Bravely Default 2: Killing Adam in the Prologue
25Yes you can in fact do it and the game even gives you a bonus ending for it.
That being said I DO NOT advise going for on a first run I just did it because I'm partially insane and grinding was something mindless I could do while sitting through lectures.
Anyways there's probably a few ways to go about this but here's my strategy.
HAVE EVERYONE MASTER FREELANCER (and at least 1 if not 2 or 3 other jobs)
Make Sure everyone is a freelancer for this fight so they have stand ground allowing them to survive fatal blows 50% of the time, Important due to his Alternis Dim Pattented Minus strike that does 9999 damage but stand ground turns surviving into a coin toss instead of just plain death, and his desperation attack that's basically designed to kill you but stand ground gives you a shot at survival.
Also Freelancers get stat boosts for every Job class Mastered
You'll want to be competently leveled to where any character can be decked out with the Icebrand, 2 pendants, a round shield, and a mana robe and not be Overburdened. So I recommend level 25 at minimum.
Equip Everyone with a Manarobe and 2 elemental pendants of your choice to block whatever elements and provide the stat boosts you need.
GIVE 2 ICE PENDANTS TO YOUR BLACK MAGIC USER! They will be spamming poison on Adam Basically the entire fight because he counters status effects with a powerful Ice Elemental Attack that drains his own life. If you have the manarobe and 2 ice pendants you can use those counters against him to not only heal Elvis but also cause him to lose over 6000 HP every time he does it. He also can be poisoned which is nice if it actually does go off but that's just a neat little boost it's not that important and don't worry about it too much just have Elvis keep spamming poison.
Have 2 characters with Maxed out white Magic so you not only have a way to recover but also a safety net.
the 2 abilities that need to be on every party member are Better than ever which allows you to heal beyond max HP and either solar or lunar power which allows you to recover MP every turn, pick the one you want and choose the time of day to fight Adam accordingly.
You'll want to make sure Seth is the one with the Ice Brand Equipped and preferably have him outfitted as your primary damage dealer.
SAVE SETHS SPECIAL TRUST ME ON THIS.
at a little above 30000 HP Adam will pull out his desperation move basically designed to kill you and this is what you need stand ground for if you want to hope to survive.
After that desperation move Adam will lose most of his health and only have about 2500 remaining. If Seth is not alive revive him ASAP and focus on keeping him alive above all else until he gets a chance to act.
If you saved that special and equipped Seth with the Icebrand then congratulations you'll do over 3000 damage and Should Almost certainly finish Adam off if he's somehow still alive just start throwing shit at him magic items don't miss so that should do the trick but try to make sure he dies to the special to be safe.

oh also I suppose you have to fight Horten right before this so uhhhhh... just have Seth Use Neo Cross Slash 2-3 times and he'll be dead without even getting his mid battle speeches.
