0Pro Tip unless you're going for the secret prologue ending don't bother with this guy.
Anyways that Blue Axolotl hanging out by the beach just so happens to be insanely powerful and is immune to all magic damage. It absorbs Ice Damage but any other element is also a waste of time because it'll take the damage then immediately heal for that amount and he's immune to poison.
Now here's the thing if a party member has a mana robe and an elemental pendant equipped they are immune to that type of elemental damage (an Important thing to keep in mind) if they have 2 pendants + a mana robe they will absorb that type of damage. That makes his otherwise deadly Blizzaga Spells not only redundant but actually Helpful for you as they heal you. Otherwise he has 2 physical attacks and a poison attack to watch out for. This fight can take a while and you definitely should not be fighting him in the freaking prologue (heck I'm almost level 30 and he still has the red aura that say "too tough for now turn back")
Killing him has the chance of dropping either the Icebrand or Mermonster scale and he can be farmed. The droprate seems to be about 50/50 or I got really lucky because I got 2 Icebrands. You'll want at least one of them if you're going for the secret prologue ending but I'd recommend 2.
Also notice how Seth Could Damage him with Body Slam despite having the Ice Brand Equipped. Body Slam does not check for elements or weapon types only the weight of the users equipment and the Icebrand just so happens to be heavy as heck.
