134Thank you for watching! ...really, thank you. This is my favorite VGM song of all time, and I can't express in words alone what your interest in this remix means to me. When I first heard this song over a decade ago, it made an immediate and lasting impact on me - the elegant strings, searing guitars, and gorgeous composition (not to mention raw intensity!) checked every last box for me. If you have an opportunity to listen to the original, I would earnestly encourage it!
This remix is full of happy accidents, and I was able to discover some new favorite sounds and learn a lot in the process. One of the bigger challenges was figuring out what style(s) to go with, and I was turned on, critically, to drumstep at one point, which became a major influence here. I ultimately wanted the instrumentation to resemble the original, while having a bit of a crystalline texture and more dynamic percussive elements, and I'm honestly so happy with how this turned out! ð€
I've wanted to remix this song for many years now - long before I even began using FL Studio. This project was actually started over a year and a half ago, and at the time, I didn't feel that my abilities were sufficient to remix this song in the way I wanted to. In truth, I thought it would be a few more years before I would attempt this piece, but the SquareEnix Powermix, hosted by the Megamix community, was the exact catalyst I needed to overcome those inhibitions and go all-in with this remix. My Default would have been to leave this one on the back burner indefinitely, but the opportunity to contribute to another community project helped me to be Brave and see this long-held dream to completion!
Speaking of which, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude towards the people behind @vgmegamix (formerly known as Pokemon Megamix), and especially its founder @AlmightyArceus . The constant love, support, and encouragement I've received from this incredible community has been instrumental in my development as a remixer, and I am so proud to be a part of it.
