We continue the fifth chapter of the game, this video showcasing all 8 asterisk battles that hadn't been previously fought because I'd chosen what seemed like the superior jobs at the time (Performer was likely better than Pirate in the long run, since I never used Pirate's skills at all, and idk about White Mage vs. Merchant - I think Merchant was OK for critical Hammers before unlocking Rain).

Not all of these jobs have any use in the remaining battles of the game, but I still get them for completion's sake.

There's a total of 8 battles in this video. Generally, the bosses we all know from Bravely Default fall prey to Soul Mirror on the defensive side and Meteor Rain on the offensive. The fights have some differences here and there, which I shall point out.

Kamiizumi - mostly pretty basic, until he starts countering Meteor Rain (and reducing the damage too). My mages dying robs them of their Mystic Boon mag boosts, prolonging this part of the fight. It's all safe though.

Jackal - Purrfect Stance is needed on top of Soul Mirror for those turns when Jackal decides to drain Tiz's HP - Soul Mirror can't reflect that, but a high enough defence renders it ineffective. Tiz dies otherwise, with the strat falling apart as a result.

Praline - iirc her mooks ignore Protect Ally (could be thinking of another battle entirely), which is why I also Soul Mirror Yew - he can always bring people back with Blessing Mist should the need arise. Performer is not a bad job... until we get Kaiser shortly lol.

Barras - really straightforward.

Holly - actually uses magic so I need Magic Mirror to not die to Holy. Minor chip against Holly herself too.

Alternis - has actual AoE damage. I believe I can't have elemental protection + Soul Mirror at the same time (too late to check now) and reflect doesn't help me much there. Blessing Mist keeps the party alive for a short while, but Yew doesn't live to renew it. Tiz outstalls Alternis when left alone on the field, as he's totally invincible with his high defence, Soul Mirror supplying the damage in the fight.

So which one is cheaper now, Soul Mirror or Meteor Rain?

Kikyõ - the easiest one of them all; can't hurt my party at all.

Artemia - Soul Mirror on just Tiz won't cut it since AoE attacks and the like will target everyone at some point anyway. Yew and Tiz both team up Soul Mirroring the party, and the battle goes smoothly from there with reflected damage and no Blessing Mist is needed here.

I am missing just three jobs when this is over, and these are all obtained shortly.
