1After Jessica's betrayal, we decide to track her down to the UB. What awaits us inside? Can we get in without causing a ruckus?
The year is 2054. Magic has returned to the world, along with dragons, elves, dwarves, orks, and trolls. We live in a dystopia that is overrun by megacorporations that keep the masses down and drain the life from them. Shadowrun is a setting that marries Tolkien-esque fantasy elements (magic, metahuman races) with dystopian cyberpunk a la William Gibson (Neuromancer, The Peripheral, among others). Everything is double faced - the side that operates in the open, and then the side that operates in the shadows. After all, when you're a megacorporation that has their own arcology and extraterritoriality you can't just come at your opponents directly. That's where we come in - the glue that holds this whole mess of betrayal and corp espionage together, Shadowrunners. Deniable assets, free from the rigors of acting under a System Identification Number (SIN) we are free - truly free to do as we please. We survive on our wits, our tenacity, and our ability to get the job done; so long as it doesn't go all to drek and end up with us getting geeked. There's not too many rules to our world - but there are clear guidelines. First, NEVER make a deal with a dragon. Second, geek the mage first. After that, you better hope you get lucky and have the guts to make your dreams come true. Sam... well I guess I'll see you in Seattle chummer.
