The Oniro project is designed with adaptability in mind, including compatibility with a variety of devices such as mobile phones. Over the past year, Software Mansion and Huawei have collaborated to integrate the popular cross-platform mobile framework React Native into the OpenHarmony platform - and by extension, to Eclipse Oniro for OpenHarmony. In this session, Przemek will give an overview of Oniro, focusing on its application in mobile devices. He will explain why cross-platform frameworks like React Native are an essential component of the system. Przemek will also introduce ArkUI, OpenHarmony's principal UI framework. Attendees will then learn about React Native and its vast ecosystem. Przemek will provide insight into how React Native functions, including how it is being integrated into the Oniro environment by Software Mansion. He will also take a retrospective journey, describing the improvements since last year. By the end of the presentation, attendees should understand the convenience and cross-platform development benefits that React Native brings when transitioning existing apps to Oniro and how it could help streamline their mobile app development.
