In Britain and around the world Army units awarded the Minden Battle honour have been celebrating Minden Day.

It's two hundred and fifty four years since an alliance of British, Prussian and Hanoverian forces beat off a massive French attack on the west German town.

The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment's forebears the 37th of Foot were at Minden. Today its soldiers commemorated the battle in the town for the first time.
