Broken as intended: Part 31 - Historically Accurate War Thunder Gameplay & Observations
One of the much vaunted "features" in War Thunder (apparently Gaijin are still clinging to it) is Historical Accuracy, this claim has become more and more dubious the more Gaijin have added into the game. For starters the "Match Maker" enjoys to constantly throw up post war vehicles against World War 2 vehicles, this sometimes creates relatively balanced gameplay, but is far from being historically accurate. Then we have the events that are thrown into the game on a regular basis, this is where Gaijin claim the battles should be historically accurate and attempt to put in vehicles from the actual battle the event(s) are supposed to represent; along with maps from the area of conflict.
This video contains footage from the event that was running over the last weekend (the battle of Bastogne) and my comments about Gaijins' weak attempt at recreating it.
One thing of note is that the P-47M you see me flying out towards the end wasn't used during the Ardennes offensive, since it wasn't in service until 3 months after the battle had ended and yet the Germans don't get the Me-262 (or any other jets) which were in use at the time...
No Time Stamping.
Audio intact for the most part, 1 music track was removed due to limiting availability.
Music: Various snippets play throughout the footage.
