Bruckell LeGran Luxe - Small Overlap Crash Test

The Bruckell LeGran is a mid size sedan manufactured from 1984 to 1988. The LeGran received a poor rating in our small overlap test due to a lack of crumple zones and a lack of structural reinforcement in the firewall and frame.
The combination of these two situations led to the vehicles frame twisting and bending to an extreme angle. This resulted in the firewall taking the brunt of the impact which pushed it so far back that it buckled the roof and resulted in major steering wheel, foot pedal, dash, and instrument intrusion over a foot and a half into the driver.
The late 1950's were the first years manufacturers started developing crumple zones and they were not perfected to nearlythe degree by the 1980's as they are today and as a result many cars from this era receive poor ratings in modern safety tests as safety technology was still in it's infancy.
