Brutal Doom Redemption 3.0 & Doom The Way ID Did - Knee-Deep In The Dead
Brutal Doom Redemption by far is the hardest Brutal Doom mutation I've met to this time. Not only the possessed humans are much more accurate (Shotgunners are really devastating, they are like snipers in Redemption), but without backpack you carry much less ammunition (25/50 with backpack, shells at maximum), you are also more fragile (just enter the toxic waste or lava and see how much does it hurt). As the most difficult part, I choose pinkies because they are extremely dangerous in Redemption.

Doom The Way ID Did is a mappack for Doom I that tends to recreate first three episodes with completely new set of maps for each of them. The goal was to recreate each episode in the style of Romero's, Hall's and Petersen's designs with some twist - you can see a lot of similarities and ideas in these maps used from the vanilla maps. Keep in mind that maps are a little bit harder, but it shouldn't be a problem for experienced Doom players to finish them.
Redemption edition changes the typical brutal Doom. No longer are you a powerhouse but rather a soldier fighting to survive and get out. Weapons hit harder but ammo finding an carrying is less. Your melee strength is no match for the demons of hell but with a few well placed shots to weaken your foe you can go in and finish him off with a fatality. Tred lightly tho. Close with in a demon and he will tear you a new one (YES, PINKIES ARE A NIGHTMARE - get cornered by them and you are dead almost instantly).

The result is to give players a more of powerful arsenal but at the same time deadly enemy to face.

mod runs with the latest GZDoom and Zand 3.0 ( but not its multiplayer)
