Regarding the lift shortcut, as soon as you step on it first time the other lift moves and goes to the area the first lift came from, so getting on the lift in parish and going to firelink, the second will go to parish so you don't have to worry about messing up this shortcut.
Shaz gets another fire keeper soul! And he has to face some more strong enemies.
