BTK, which stands for "Bind, Torture, Kill," was the chilling moniker adopted by Dennis Rader, an American serial killer who terrorized the Wichita, Kansas area from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Rader murdered ten people over several decades, sending taunting letters to the media and police detailing his crimes and relishing in the notoriety. He remained at large for years before being apprehended in 2005, when he was finally identified through DNA evidence and his own writings, leading to his conviction and life imprisonment for his heinous acts of violence.
